1. Recruiting and contribution assumptions

Number of providers expected to join from this recruiting effort.

$

Projected attributed revenue for one retained provider during the modeled year.

%

Contribution before recruiting cost ÷ attributed revenue.

%

The portion of modeled contribution realized by your organization.

%

Portion of new recruits expected to remain through the modeled year.

$

Include ads, recruiter time, events, data, and onboarding incentives if relevant.

How it works

Make your recruiting assumptions visible before you set a target

Start with the providers you expect to recruit, then enter attributed revenue, contribution margin, organization realization, and retention assumptions for the modeled year. Add the full recruiting cost to see cost per retained provider, net contribution, ROI, and a simple payback estimate.

Need to turn a recruiting target into a market, list-size, and outreach-workload plan? Try the Provider Outreach Campaign Planner.

Contribution view

Model contribution margin and organization realization separately so the calculation remains clear.

Retained cohort

Apply your own 12-month retention assumption before valuing the recruited group.

No hidden benchmarks

The tool supplies no recruiting, revenue, or retention benchmarks and makes no result promise.

This calculator is educational and planning-only. It does not guarantee provider productivity, retention, contribution, recruiting results, or financial return. It excludes departure timing, partial-year contribution, operating costs, taxes, fees, and other costs unless you account for them in your inputs. Confirm figures with your finance, legal, compliance, and clinical leadership.

FAQs

Before you model provider recruiting economics

What does the Provider Recruiting ROI Calculator estimate?

Using only the values you enter, it estimates the retained portion of a recruited cohort, contribution per recruit, annual realized contribution, cost per retained provider, net contribution, ROI, and payback period.

How is annual contribution calculated?

The model multiplies retained providers by annual attributed revenue per recruit, contribution margin, and organization realization rate. It treats the result as an annual planning estimate for the cohort that remains through the modeled year.

How does the calculator use retention?

Your 12-month retention rate determines the modeled count of recruits that remain in the cohort. The calculator applies contribution only to that retained count; it does not attempt to model the timing of departures or partial-year contribution.

Does this calculator guarantee recruiting or financial results?

No. It is an educational planning tool, not a forecast or guarantee. Revenue attribution, contribution, retention, recruiting cost, and timing vary by organization and provider. Review your assumptions with the appropriate finance, legal, compliance, and clinical leaders.
